Our History

Designed by renowned architect Willis Irvin in 1925 and completed in 1927, William Robinson is the cherished grade school of countless Augusta adults. Today, the historic Summerville property has been reinvented into 12 luxury condominiums. While the historic fabric of William Robinson remained virtually unchanged, The SchoolHOUSE combines the latest trends in sustainable construction and landscaping with the utmost attention to detail in interior plans and finishes.

An Education in Stylish Living

The SchoolHOUSE caters to those who appreciate history and architecture and who want to experience the charm of residing within the Summerville Historic District. It’s for those who don’t care to maintain a large yard but who want to enjoy a private greenspace. As a LEED-certified building, natural daylighting and ventilation will reduce residents’ operating costs by an average of 30%. Our residents seek impeccable construction, innovative floorplans, privacy, peace, and security.

Architecture

The developers of The SchoolHOUSE have a strong sense of stewardship for the property and the memories created there. Each condominium was uniquely designed to capitalize on the existing historic features of the school while incorporating privacy, modern comforts and energy efficiency. The latest methods of insulation, soundproofing, and heat and air zoning are qualities of the building’s LEED certification. The development is compact and recycles a formerly developed site, limiting construction activity and pollution.
